The 2009 National LGBTI Health Summit

The 2009 National LGBTI Health Summit

The AIDS Foundation of Chicago, in partnership with the Center on Halsted, Howard Brown Health Center, The Chicago Department of PublicHealth and Test Positive Aware Network, wanted to create a site that performed two major roles.

  1. To allow them to organize the summit and accept submissions of abstracts and summit materials.
  2. To integrate social networking features for users to create special interest groups, connect with each other before/during the Summit and be able to register for the event and apply for scholarships.

Those features were implemented along with making all website content user editable from any web browser and integrating an email alert and private messaging system between users.

The 2009 National LGBTI Health Summit, in collaboration with the Bi Health Summit is August 14 - 18, 2009 in Chicago. It will focus on "Health Through the Life Course" and is dedicated to preserving and improving the emotional, physical, spiritual, intellectual, psychological, environmental, and social health and wellness of LGBTI people; a diverse range of communities who each experience significant health disparities because of our sexual orientations and/or gender identities.
