The "For Dummies" series of books is known far and wide for digestible information on the quick about pretty much anything. Like CliffsNotes for everyday life.

I was poking around on the Discovery Channel site and they had a quiz for "was it a For Dummies book or not." I figured it would be entertaining but I got more than I bargained for! Apparently there are more "For Dummies" topics than I gave credit for. Get this... There is a Homeschooling for Dummies book. Terrifying as that me be.

OK, so on its own it maybe has a place in the "a little off" category. Heck, it may be very useful. Ah, but the best part? Check out the first bullet on the site:

A friend of mine sent me this. It's a brilliantly clever product video ad for Durex using "balloon animals." They even made "outtakes" which made me chuckle.

It's an ingenious way to keep the focus on what they're selling while making a big departure from the usual type of advertising one would expect.

Totally unrelated to anything design, it's just an entertaining story of karma about a Queens construction worker named Ralph Amendolaro that played the lotto based on the last 3 digits of Madoff's prison number. He came away with $1500.

At the very least, at least someone could make some money off of Bernie Madoff.
